Sponge the affected area with water, then flush the entire area with cool water. Rub a paste of powered detergent or non-diluted liquid laundry detergent into stain. Launder as usual, in warm water. Color may be restored by sponging a new stain with ammonia, or an old stain with white vinegar, then flush with cool water. If ammonia or vinegar solution is to be used on delicate fabrics such as, but not limited to, mohair or silk, dilute with an equal amount of cool water.
